Custom Patio Pond Installation — Augusta, GA

Living water gardens with fish and plants we breed ourselves. No filter. No equipment. Just nature.

Serving the CSRA — Augusta, Evans, Martinez, Columbia County & North Augusta

What it is

A living ecosystem for your patio

A patio pond is a balanced, self-sustaining container garden — a planter pot, a handful of aquatic plants, natural hardscape, and a small group of colorful fish. There is no filter, no pump, and no equipment to plug in. The plants clean the water, the fish keep the algae and mosquitoes down, and the whole thing quietly runs itself. We build it on-site for you.

Garden City Guppies is veteran-owned and operated. We breed every fish and grow every plant ourselves, right here in the CSRA. When you bring a pond home from us, you're supporting a local veteran family — not a big-box retailer or a mail-order warehouse.

The same discipline we learned in service goes into every pond we build. Every fish is healthy before it leaves. Every setup is done right the first time.

FAQ

Common questions

Do I really need no filter or pump?

Correct. A properly stocked patio pond is a balanced ecosystem — plants consume the waste the fish produce, and lava rock hosts the bacteria that keep the cycle running. No pump, no plug, no noise.

What about mosquitoes?

Guppies and medaka are voracious mosquito-larvae eaters. A stocked patio pond is one of the best mosquito controls you can have in your yard.

How often do I feed the fish?

A tiny pinch of food once a day is plenty in summer, and every 2–3 days once temperatures drop. We include starter food with every install.

What happens in winter?

In the CSRA, guppies do well outside from spring through fall. For our coldest weeks we recommend either bringing the pot indoors briefly or moving fish to a temporary tank — we walk you through it.

How much sunlight does it need?

Aim for 4–6 hours of direct sun. Morning sun with afternoon shade is ideal for our region. We help you pick a good spot during the consult.

Do you install ponds outside the CSRA?

We serve the full CSRA — Augusta, Evans, Martinez, Columbia County, and North Augusta. Reach out if you are just outside that area — we may still be able to help.

What if a fish dies?

It happens occasionally, especially in the first few weeks. Send us a note and we will replace it at cost or free depending on how new your install is.

Can I add more fish or plants later?

Absolutely. Once your pond is established you can add stock from our shop anytime, and we offer discounted add-on visits for existing customers.
